Pakistan Railways and Punjab Food Authority (PFA) organized an awareness camp titled "Strengthen Immunity, Protection Against Diseases" at Railway Headquarters, Lahore today. Awareness to improve diet and hygiene were provided. The nutritionist of Punjab Food Department asked the Railway employees about their health and daily diet and urged them to use better diet including pulses, vegetables, fruits, meat, milk and butter. Apart from this, awareness literature was also distributed among the employees. Employees are urged to use foods rich in vitamins A, B, C and zinc to improve immunity and to save them from Covid-19 disease. DG Punjab Food Authority Rafaqat Ali Niswana said that guidance is being provided to protect people from corona and dengue. He said that teams of nutritionists are providing information on food that helps in boosting immunity against diseases and food charts are being provided free of cost to the people suffering from any disease with complete dietary guidance. Awareness is also being given about the food supplements that meet the needs of the people. He further said that so far more than 200 people have been provided free guidance and direct awareness on the use of better diet. Director Public Relations Mrs. Nazia Jabeen said the process of creating nutrition awareness is commendable. With the help of Awareness Camp, the public needs to be guided towards a balanced and better diet and their ability to fight diseases through better food selection is imperative for healthy life. Healthy food with sufficient nutrition enhances immunity and protect people from diseases.
